Privacy Policy

Overview

SnapPDF (“we”, “us”) provides free online PDF tools. This policy explains what happens to files you process, what limited data we may collect about site use, and how advertising works on the site. We designed most tools to run in your browser so document bytes do not need to sit on our servers to finish the job.

Browser-first file processing

For many tools — including compress, merge, split, reorder, edit (forms / markup / blackout), protect, unlock, scan & straighten, PDF↔JPG, and JPG→PDF — processing happens in your browser with JavaScript and related libraries over HTTPS. For those tools, SnapPDF does not need to receive your file contents on a server to produce the download.

Your device still stores temporary copies while the page is open (normal browser memory / download behavior). Clear downloads on shared computers when you finish.

When a file may be uploaded briefly

A small set of conversions (notably high-quality PDF to Word layout) may send your file to a short-lived server converter so tables, borders, and images survive. When that path runs:

• The file is processed for the conversion request.
• Temporary processing copies are not kept as a browsing archive, document library, or training set for SnapPDF.
• If the layout converter is unavailable, SnapPDF may fall back to an in-browser text path so you still get a document.

Do not upload documents you are contractually or legally barred from processing online. Prefer browser-only tools when your policy forbids any upload.

Product analytics

We may collect anonymous or aggregated product analytics such as page views, which tool was started, success or failure counts, and rough technical context (for example browser type). We use this to keep the service reliable and to understand which tools need improvement.

Analytics are not used to read the contents of your PDFs or photos.

Cookies and advertising

SnapPDF may show ads served by third-party networks when display inventory is configured. Those partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where allowed by your region and consent settings.

You can manage cookies through your browser controls. See each ad partner’s own privacy policy for details of how they process data.

We do not sell your documents. Ad networks do not receive your PDF file contents from SnapPDF as part of showing a display ad on a tool page.

Hosting and security

The website is served over HTTPS. Hosting providers (for example the platform that serves snappdf.co) may process standard server logs such as IP address, user agent, and request paths for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. Those logs are separate from document contents processed in your browser.

Contact messages

If you use the contact form, we receive the information you submit (such as email and message text) so we can respond. Do not include passwords or highly sensitive personal data in contact messages.

Children

SnapPDF is a general-audience productivity site. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us through the contact form, contact us and we will delete it when appropriate.

Your choices

• Use browser-only tools when you want processing to stay local.
• Avoid uploading restricted documents to any online converter.
• Clear site data / downloads on shared devices after use.
• Adjust browser cookie settings as you prefer.
• Read tool-page privacy notes for the specific tool you are using.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as features, hosting, or advertising change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
